I headed over to Albert Square with several of my friends from Mill Point to check it out. Who knew they had full celebrations just to turn Christmas lights on? Not me! Apparently it was a big "to-do" as Nicola Roberts (from Girls Aloud) and Tinchy Stryder (his song "Number 1" topped the UK Singles Chart) were the headliners and ones to turn on the lights. The event was hosted by Key 103's Mike Toolan and Chelsea Spokes.
The hour and half program concluded with the lights being turned on as well as a fireworks show.
The Christmas season also marks the return of the award-winning Manchester Christmas Markets.
