The Manchester Metros (Div 1) traveled to Murrayfield, Edinburgh this past Sunday to face the Edinburgh Eagles in the season opener. The game was highly contested and chippy throughout. The Metros ran a roster of 11 vs. a full Edinburgh squad. The Metros dictated the play as well as the speed of the game. After being scoreless thru two, the scoring finally opened in the 3rd period on a netted breakaway goal by Allen Gunn (assisted by Brad Valentine). Edinburgh's Anthony Selles (assisted by Tyson Ruetz, and Andrew Blakeley) tied the game at one all with under 5 minutes to go, sealing a 1-1 draw between the teams.
